Meet Our Founder & Owner, Natalie
High School Dance Prep’s Founder and Owner, Natalie Chernow, is recognized as the leading dance team expert in the nation, as well as one of the most in-demand choreographers. With over 20 years of dance team experience, she has been through all stages of the dance team process: auditioning, making the team, becoming captain, running auditions, choreographing, coaching at the collegiate level, and ultimately coaching at the professional level in the NFL.
Natalie's collegiate journey began at the University of Arizona, where she auditioned for and successfully made the Pomline, dancing for the team all four years. She was chosen as the team's co-captain her junior year and captain her senior year.
She additionally served as head choreographer and choreographed the team's nationals routines. Her outstanding contributions were recognized with the prestigious Pride of Arizona MVP award her senior year.
After college, Natalie moved to Miami, Florida, where she took over as head coach and choreographer for the University of Miami’s Hurricanettes Dance Team, leading the program for five seasons. This role gave her deep insight into the mindset of college coaches and the keys to a successful audition.
Natalie then went on to coach and choreograph for six seasons with the internationally renowned Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders. Her NFL experience expanded her already unmatched knowledge of auditions and helped her further shape dancers into top-tier performers ready for elite teams.
She has worked with and choreographed for professional teams including the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders, Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, Raiderettes Cheerleaders, Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders, San Francisco 49ers Gold Rush, Miami HEAT Dancers, and Orlando Magic Dancers. She has also choreographed performances for artists such as Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, Uncle Luke, Flo Rida, and Prince Royce. Her standout productions include a 300-dancer halftime performance for Marc Anthony at the first-ever U.S. El Clásico and the 2022 opening ceremony of the F1 Grand Prix in Miami.
Since founding College Dance Prep in 2014, Natalie and her team have helped thousands of dancers make collegiate teams.
